Colin Maher, Chief Executive of Mars Capital, appointed to Board of Banking & Payments Federation Ireland
May 2024 – Colin Maher, Chief Executive of Mars Capital, has been appointed to the Board of Banking & Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI) for a two-year tenure.
On taking up his appointment Mr Maher said: “I am delighted and honoured to be appointed to the BPFI Board. As the first leader of a regulated credit servicing firm to be appointed, this is an important milestone which recognises the changing financial landscape in Ireland. Our commitment to putting customers first and being solutions-focused has been central to Mars Capital’s strong growth in the Irish market, creating more than 100 jobs in the last year.”

Lone Star’s Start Mortgages completes transfer of €2bn of loans to Mars Capital
June 2024 - Start Mortgages, the loan-servicing company owned by US private-equity giant Lone Star, has completed the transfer of €2 billion of mortgages to Mars Capital.
“Bringing more than €2 billion of assets under our management on to our platform is both an exciting expansion of Mars Capital’s business in Ireland and a huge responsibility which we take very seriously,” said Colin Maher, chief executive of Mars Capital Ireland.
The loans transfer will see Mars Capital act as the lead servicer for the Start Mortgages portfolios, handling borrower complaints, correspondence, payment collections, information and record management, borrower financial statements assessments and regulatory reporting.
The transaction will not impact the terms and conditions of the mortgages.
